for one thing, just to clear up a misconception, the Turn A takes place AFTER ALL the events of the UC. The FC feeds into it as well, since the Turn X is burning gundam. for one, the dark history, is a bunch of images from the UC storylines. like double zeta, zeta, and original. It can't set up the UC, because it IS the UC(and the FC) technically. apart from that, the Turn A gundam wasn't that bad of looking, it's a little goofy, but it's not bad.

another misconception is that the RX-78 Gundam(amuro rays original gundam in the one year war) IS the Turn A gundam. For one, it's the gundam that "oppressed space"(zeon), for two they call it the White Devil(RX-78s nickname given to it by the zeon), and for three that one moon guy who turned into a monk, always called it Gundam. of course some tech is fed into it, but you must realize that it IS the RX-78 gundam, because i don't think the unicorn books were written when Turn A was made(but i could be wrong)

back on topic, yes! Unicorn gundam! i hope it's as good as the novels, and i hope that they keep the awesome of the UC(which is still the best timeline) going

The Unicorn Gundam novels are relatively recent, I think they were made in 05 or 06. Turn A was made in/released in 1999.
