Angel Beats 2nd Term

So i rewatched Angel Beats today and started to surf the internet for a probability on a second season (wonder why i didn't do that before).
I came across countless sites with old post stating there will be a 2nd season called 2nd Term. Jum Maeda stated this in some magazines if we can believe the sites.

It was supposed to air spring this year, but I haven't heard an official statement of anything related to Angel Beats getting aired yet.
Does any of you have more information? (maybe from japanese sites)

We had this discussion a while ago. There's no official confirmation to anything at this point of time. It may happen who knows? Or it may not. Don't hold your breath too much.

I'm fine with not having a second season. A few OVAs to show what happens after will be nice though

You sure it's not just some mistranslation for some OVA or unaired episode (which we already have).

Because as far as as conclusive endings go, this series has quite ended.

The suggestion was that as per epilogue OVA the 2nd Term would continue with Otonashi, helping new people or what not.

Oh yeah, that's possible, but it'll be hard to try and stir some story out of that considering the SS has been disbanded, "Angels" purpose has been de-mystified, Otonashi himself returning to reality etc

Anyway if it's going to have some story it'll probably be going down the path of further exploring if a "god" actually exists or end up being some shallow Kami nomi zo clone.

I'm kind of skeptical about this coz last year, I saw Jun Maeda's interview on Dengeki G's (winter issue) and he said that Angel Beats! is officially finished and hence, no 2nd season will be aired. Only "another epilogue" and an OVA will be available on 7th DVD/BD, which is already out.

But, if that's the case than hell yeah I want an 2nd season

Though, I bet the characters would be completely new and different from the original, since everyone literally moved on.
