Question about Clannad movie - Page 2

Well, just so you know without any spoilers, the movie is another variation of the first series and after story combined. When people say "it's the same", imo, it's not. Lets just say, alternate ending. If you haven't seen it, go and watch it b/c it's a really good movie.

I just finished Clannad, and I'm about to watch The Motion Picture then Afterstory. But I'm confused about a couple of things, mainly what is the point of this series? I mean the first twelve or so episodes seemed to revolve heavily around Fuko and then she just vanishes without her fate really decided, and the rest of the series has so many subplots with an overall plot of opening the theater club that I don't see how this really relates to Tomoyo or that one girl (who he dates at the end of the series, not the silver haired one).

It was a great series, but it feels like it had too many subplots and not a real overall one for me to understand. I mean now that I've seen the first twenty two episodes (and the special and OVA/#24) I see it's about him and the girl but I still just think it could've maybe been better.

Sorry for being so horrible with names, I have a tough time remembering Japanese ones except Fuko and Sunohara for some reason. And I'm not even sure if Tomoyo is the main dude (blue hair) or the girl who kicks ass.... (yes I paid attention to the anime, just names evade me once I stop watching)

Tomoya is the boy and Tomoyo is the silver haired girl. That one girl (who he dates) is Nagisa.
To put it simply just watch Clannad After Story and everything will get resolved and clear.

Alright, thanks. I'll do that. Right now I'm watching the Motion Picture and it's noticeably.. shitty. It's dark, creepy, different from Clannad and the animation blows. I think someone on the first page of this thread said the same thing.

I'm considering stopping right now, but I own the DVD and paid an unfair amount of money for it so I MIGHT just keep on watching. Meh. I'd rather start on After Story.

But thanks. And quick question: Does anyone know what the name Clannad means?
