Synopsis:

Otherwise for short known as Season 2 of Kaiji, we find our gamble-happy Kaiji stuck at a loss as Endoh catches up to him with remaining debt still left over from his night facing Kazutaka Hyoudou. Due to how Kaiji lives, he can't possibly pay off his debt so he's thrown into "Hell" - owned by Hyoudou himself -a group called Teiai. This is a place of dismal hope where other debtors are forced into slave labor for little to no pay every month. The catch? You can purchase a ticket to freedom for $500,000 of their made-up underground currency which allows you a single day to do whatever you want - such a ticket will surely come with a price! Will Kaiji finally be able to escape his fate and acquire this ticket?

I love Kaiji. I daresay aside from The World God Only Knows S2, this is already my favorite on pure bias. Of course, I will give other shows a fair trial however, a psychological mind-ride of human behaviors and habits thrills me. I wonder if Kaiji can finally sock it back to the old bastard.

Fantastic second episode. Kaiji is now remembering what it felt like to put it all on the line and lose or win. This will kick Kaiji into serious mode. I can't wait for him to start raping everyone next episode.

I don't care if I'm the only one who watches this masterpiece in the making, I still feel it relevant to talk to myself about it.

No other show can tug on my heartstrings as much as Kaiji. It's an excellent rollercoaster of ups and downs. This last episode is proof, everyone is in despair and you're right with them, feeling hopeless, trapped like the slaves they are - and then comes along Miyoshi.

With his book of godsend numbers, he gives Kaiji the one shot he needs to convince the other members to help him. The show is only going up from here. I can't wait for him to sock it to Ohtsuki!

I guess I'll break the combo and put another face in this thread. But Kaiji is a good anime and anyone who likes suspense and thrillers should watch it.

But admittedly I haven't finished S1. Its been put on hold for awhile now because I need to be in a certain mood to watch it and a nice chunk of free time. But I am dling S2 for when I do finish S1.

To each their own. I found I couldn't watch Kaiji unless I marathon'd all the episodes back to back, it's probably one of THE premier thrillers I can suggest, along with Akagi (same studio, voice actors, etc) and One Outs ( same voice actors, different studio - madhouse - but same premises only with baseball). I can get people don't like the animation style, and I didn't even at first, but by the end I felt this style of animation was suited perfectly for the story. The despair, the emotions, the raw power - it all came through the animation. There is no way they could have pulled it off with normal animation.

Finally, the next episode is when they will challenge Ohtsuki. Can't wait for Kaiji to wipe that stupid smirk off that bastard's face. After going through the hellish torture and bullying, he finally has a shot after two months endurance to take it back!

Fantastic episode again, definitely kept me glued to my screen. Kaiji strikes first blood! Signaling in his group like a bunch of reinforcements when he has Ohtsuki trapped. Pin him against the wall, Kaiji!
