Default Soul Eater, worth buying? - 03-14-2011, 03:38 PM

So I was just browsing round, then I spy on Amazon this:

Now Soul Eater was an anime that I just dropped off my radar while it was airing, think I got to episode 5. So anyone who watched the entire series, do you think it's worth picking up at this price?

The series is good once it moves through that whole introduction arc. But then at like episode 12 there was all those completely pointless antics with Excalibur. Plus the ending, without spoiling it entirely, Maka defeated that resurrected evil guy with just a word. Download it, at least then you can get rid of it, if you dislike it.

Stop at about episode 38 and read the manga. That way you probably won't be turned off.

Strays too far in the middle from the manga for my taste. The first 30 are pretty good, but if u really want to watch soul eater, u gonna hafta read from there. I really love the manga, so idk, if u can, u should check it out.
But if u havent seen fma brotherhood, its also by bonez, and is nothing like the original fma. Just suggestions

I have watched ALL the episodes (dubbed mind you) and I enjoyed it very much. It was due to the hard work of another AnimeTake member (Thanks Again!)

I loved it enough to want to keep it. If I had some disposable income I might buy this if it came with some cool extra's (like audio commentaries) or Behind the Scenes stuff. I liked the characters and never read the Manga. There were certainly parts I thought were lame but over all I devoured the series. I wish there was more.

The major characters are interesting and it wasn't hard to follow - They do build up the final climactic battle to be something it's not - The second season (final 10 or so?) episodes we're still very inventive and entertaining as the some characters have a "Bonkai" (Bleach ref) stage so it made the same tired battles new and there character of Soul has a "dark power" that is similar to Ichigo's Hollow that I found interesting.

I watched this series so I could have sometime to watch during Lunch hours or Meal times where I didn't have to read sub-titles (Duel Audio FTW) and I kind of miss it now.

Soul Eater the anime had me going until the end of the Medusa Arc. Stein was just so badass. Then it just went ppfffffftttt. My guess never having read the manga is it split somewhere or pulled a FMA where the show didn't want to wait for the manga to be aired so it did its own little thing.

Tl;dr, I don't believe so. Just download and watch it, or burn it to have it on a cheaper medium. Not worth shelling out support money.
