Legendary animation studio Gainax is teaming up with Subaru, the car manufacture, on an anime that seems to have nothing to do with cars titled "Houkago no Pleiades".

At first I was like "wtf is Gainax doing? Subaru?" but I still have faith in the project. I mean, perhaps Gaixax is just gonna use Subaru for financial reasons... or maybe the characters all pimp around in WRXs...

The staff on the project seems somewhat promising with the director of Strike Witches, the concept artist from TTGL and the character designer of Shakugan no Shana.

Here's the teaser trailer which consists of pretty much nothing except the pictures of five girls.

Now the important question: Will it have mechas of some sort in some episode?

(Experience shows that Gainax shows that have mechas, even anecdotally, fail to dissapoint.)

After seeing PnS...

In the PV, they did not show much leg, and they are supposed to be mahou shoujo so they can transform...

My theory/hope:

We might have girls, wearing only pantsu on the lower body, with car parts(wheel + engine? count as mecha?) attached to their legs racing down the alley...

Not a bad idea. If it is actually what I think it is then I will love it as much as I do with Strike Witches.
