I don't know if this is pointless or not but, I figured I should give you guys update for season 3.

Season 3 is confirmed and the director said that it will be the last season for Shana (But he did not specify when will they air it). However, they are re-airing both season 1 and 2 on TV right now. Season 1 on fall/winter, and season 2 on spring/summer. So a 3rd season might not come till next fall so in other words....a year from now.

For those who have watched Episode 4, the last ep of Shakugan no Shana S, the last part of the ep shows epilogue of season 3... But you need to read the novel in order to understand what Shana was saying at the end.

I know what I'm talking about since I'm up-to-date for light novel and plz dont ask me for sources since there wasn't any pictures/posters promoting season 3, instead there was interview transcript of director informing us that season 3 is confirmed.

For those who are wondering how season 3 is going to turn out, there is MASSIVE PLOT TWIST. You can read the spoiler where it explains what happend after season 2 (where we left off with Yuuji choosing between Shana and Yoshida)...

The night of christmas eve Yuuji did not chosed Shana, neither did he chose Yoshida. He thought he wasn't strong enough and instead left Misaka city in search of answer for his question.
A tomogara that has been sealed up inside of the Reiji maigo used Yuuji's feeling of wanting a peacefull life where everyone could live happily and turned it into a lust.

Flame haze are humans that are motivated by hatred, they would destroy everything, turn everything to ashes as long as their desire to kill a tomogara is fullfiled, there are some exception but in general this is the cases and even though they can look calm against your usual tomogara once they meet their nemesis they are but filled with rage. They are the ones that are bad.
Yuuji want to change things and get more and more motivated by the tomogara that is living inside him and finally chose to become a tomogara and join Bal masque.

His goal is to wage a war against every flame haze, destroying them. With this mindset he comes to Misaka city to fight Carmel, Margery and Shana, two of them loses their life or are bordeline dead and Yuuji takes a blood covered Shana to get her out of this conflict, because he knows that shana is not bound by hatred and he loves her. This is when Shana swears to kill Yuuji with her own two hands.

Season 3 of Shana is old news, it was confirmed way before Shana S started. But if that spoiler is true, than I will be skipping season 3 and pretending the show ended with season 2 because thats some serious fail right there.

Well apprently, it is true since the anime is following the novel 100% and the end part of ep 4 of Shakugan no Shana S cleary shows that it will turn out to be like that... pretty sad right??

Well, the novel is ending as well and the author is planning to finish the novel by next year. This means that season 3 will come out when the novel is finished.
