right now bokura ga ita (finished this year) probably scaled to top 5 in my opinion, is the best ending of a romance/slice of life anime EVER. Along with kimi ni todoke, clannad and lovely complex. Those are probably my favourite romance/slice of life animes those are in another level from the rest.

It has to be Clannad hands down for me. A close second would be Lovely Complex.

I've yet to see anything that can top it in terms of "Slice of Life".

well, if "slice if wacky life" is allowed, then I'd say Gintama

if not, then I say NHK Ni Yokosou for serious stuff, and Minami-ke for trivia

The answer is Maison Ikkoku. The only people that would disagree are the people that haven't seen it... and not too long ago, I was even one of those people. Watching it is like having an epiphany.

Until I had watched the Michael Jordan of SoL (maison ikkoku, if you weren't paying attention) I would have said NHK ni Youkoso and Toradora.

The two best SoL series that are gravely underappreciated are Nodame Cantabile (mainly the second season, have yet to watch the 3rd) and Honey & Clover. Well, I'll throw Lovely Complex in there too.
