Marvel/Madhouse make babies -

I wasn't sure about a collaboration between these two entities. Japanese rendering good ole American icons from the pages of comics is like an American made anime. The closest we can get is perhaps something along the lines of the Power Puff Girls. We just do not have the infrastructure to do justice to a quality anime here in the US. Most Americans equate anime with cartoons and cartoons with children.
However, after seeing the two teaser trailers for Iron Man and Wolverine I believe and hope I will be pleasantly surprised. Iron Man definitely looks appealing and if the detail and quality hold constant will easily eclipse the Iron Man: Armored Adventures series currently airing on Nick Toons.
As for the Wolverine trailer, it's hard to get a good impression from the short trailer but it most definitely deviates from the Wolverine character we all know and love. The character is with out a doubt influence heavily in the style of Japanese anime. This could either work for or against it depending on the quality of the story. Either way it will be unlike any incarnation of Wolverine yet seen.
This does however put a dampener on a second season for H.O.T.D. since that is a Madhouse production as well. It will be interesting to see what kind of fan service we get with these shows. It will most likely mean a long delay before a second season appears. :{
If you haven't seen the trailers yet check em out and leave your impressions.

Iron man looks awesome and makes me wanna watch it
But the Wolverine setting was berry asian. A Jap version of Wolverine? I'm prepared to give it a shot.
They're both looking pretty good, but I'm always abit shifty with American animations adapting to Jap xD

How is this much different to what's happened in the past?
There's been alternate UK spinoffs to marvel comics, and US cartoons are often outsourced to Korea (In my OP koreans suck at animation) and Japan for animation work.
I think a lot will depend on how much influence Marvel has over the project.
I think the only project of this type that was successful, in my humble opinion, was Batman Beyond. This was a great example of what can culminate from a venture between American comics and Japanese style anime.
Strictly speaking you are correct because it was written by Allen Burnett and Bob Kane and marketed for the US. However all of the animators and several directors were in fact Japanese. It was also animated in Japan. This puts it in the category of a crossover. That why I said "Japanese style" If you watch closely you can even see signs in Kanji in some of the episodes.
The anthology Batman: Gotham Knight is all Japanese I believe.
