Dresden Files are pretty neat. Um,
Watership Down is a very WEIRD book, but the style is almost similar, I think. 'Been a while since I've read it.
Let's see. I don't really care for Stephen King, but one of his books I actually did like was
Eye of the Dragon. It's written like a fairy tale.
If you like Sci-Fi, Michael Crichton is great. Not really like WoT in any way, but worth mentioning.
OOH! The
Bartimaeus Trilogy is awesome. A bit of a lower level read, but very good! Quite clever, and very humorous for fantasy books.
Same with the
Abhorsen books.
Hope that helps. Not sure if you've read any of them.
The Dresden books are about a wizard in modern days, and the detective work he does. Watership Down is about rabbits and their epic journey to find a new home. The Bartimaeus books are about a witty demon and the youthful wizard that summoned him. The Abhorsen books have an interesting setting: there are two countries, seperated by a wall. On one side of the wall, it's the modern age. On the other, there is magic; modern inventions do not work.
