I see your point, but have to agree with Fatentity on many levels. Every story can have elements of many different genre's, but the one that was followed through most of this seemed like Biblical Fiction. If the story had more or less focused JUST on the journey and battles you would have had my vote in a heart beat! Perhaps more first person views on one battle- with a vague over view of the main conquest would have worked.
I really do see your point of view- and just want to say I really DID love it! Thank you for being so aware of the deadline and doing your best to meet it- I appreciate the ability to be able to read your work. I agree with everything TTally said! And just want to say again I loved it! And if it was more as TTally said it would have gotten my vote hands down. But as you mentioned you entered late and signed up late. Hopefully next time you'll have plenty of time to write it out more and I look forward to that time Yellow =]. I also see where you're coming from so that makes a lot of sense. I had notice that too, the more entries there after, lol. And the quality of One Soul was great, above all the others.
