No Murder Princess isn't the one I'm thinking of. I'd call her a mercenary as opposed to a thief. Besides the two main characters in that anime switch bodies if it's the one I'm thinking of and most of the anime takes place at the castle. I seem to remember a talking tank but I might be getting my animes crossed.
