I went to Japan in October and it was awesome of course. I had studied quite a bit...taken a JP 1 class, even bought that rosetta stone program (which was ok) but I always seemed to forget stuff
(vocabulary, sentence structure, reading katakana/hirigana,etc)
...until I was finally in country, it all came back because I was using it every day to interact with everyone.
...of course having said all that,two months later I've forgotten half of it again.

Well that is the best way to learn something, be it anything from A to Z, if you have the environment its much faster...
well i am here taking classes... hoping for the best looking forward to Lvl3 JLPT class and my poor JLPT certificate due in feb..
