I have taken 4 Japanese courses in the school I used to be in High School. They were pretty basic, but the latest one I took was a bit more complex.
In my opinion, Japanese grammar is pretty easy. I learn and remember most of the vocabulary from what I hear in anime.
The commonly difficult part in learning Japanese is the kanji. ;| I can write in hiragana and katakana just fine, but ugh kanji..
I know several, but it's easy to forget.
I tried online lessons but I did not like them.
A friend who knows a lot of Japanese gave me copies of a book to learn. Kinda basic but, it's still a challenge for a 'beginner'.
Oh, and I'm fluent at writing and speaking but, slow at reading.

Haha, sounds like the American stereotype I once read some time ago.
"The world has to learn
our language, but we don't have to learn theirs!"
BS. ;D

Oh, Lord. o_o You already passed level 4 ?! (Even though it's beginner. XD) I took a test like the JLPT, but all levels combined. It was so hard and I failed horribly. :/
You take Japanese classes, I suppose?
