The Lord of Videogame Music last composed music for FF with X, which he did around half of the tracks, but every one of them were about as good as it gets. After X he left Squenix, basically as a disgruntled employee, and joined Mistwaker... or Mistwalker... or something like that.
I'm almost positive he didn't do any music for FF13, since he and Squenix parted ways, but all the main FF themes are still used since they have the rights to the tracks and not Uematsu himself.
And I personally consider FF6 and FFX to have the best soundtracks in the series... and "Aerith's theme" is one of the best tracks ever. Why do I suddenly feel so sad...
