Sorry for the double post. I finally got something up and running. I've used another extension and modified it to work for animetake.com. It basically displays a notification window, on a mac it uses the growl app, linux and windows uses the default bubble window. Clicking the icon from the status bar opens up a new tab with the latest anime episode page.

I need a place to host the file though. Including an html page with a description, I would say the total size should be less than 20k.
