Awesome start with all the Shiki character traits going on. I have nothing to add, it's perfect.
I think an introduction of the characters is the only thing necessary.


Shiki is the main character of Tsukihime. He has cursed eyes that can see "death lines and dots" in both living and non-living things. The "lines" are like cracks, if he cuts it with his knife, it breaks immediately. The "dot" is the being's existence, if they got stabbed in it, they are completely wiped out from the face of this world. He got this special ability when he was nearly killed by Shiki(2) 8 years ago. He somehow got connected to the root of all things.
The "Source", the "Life and the Death".
Everything in this world is going to die. That is what his eyes are showing him, he is "perceiving" their fated death.
To me, he is just like a walking "God of Death", on when he wants this being/thing to die...he can kill it immediately with his eyes. *shivers*

Arcuied
Shiki met her walking on the streets and felt an urge to follow her in an apartment. At that rate, he wasn't a sane person anymore. Perhaps his demon killing instinct reacted when he saw Arcueid, who is a vampire, walking around. As soon as he got to her apartment, he pushed the doorbell, dashed inside with a knife at hand and sliced her to 17 pieces.

As I went passed her.
Without even taking a second.
Literally at a blink of an eye.
I "dissected" her into 17 pieces of meat."
