believe Muay Thai is one of those things you have to pick up fairly early in life in order to become truly proficient. From what I understand, their training (kicking/punching using specific body parts) hardens those bones considerably more so than for most people. While this is true for any martial arts that throws a punch or a kick, Muay Thai relies on this hardened bone advantage for offensive power.
With respect to this thread: I do kickboxing and some sort of karate/kung-fu fusion thing. I've been thinking about picking up judo, but I'm not the most flexible of people. And I also agree that fighting in a match or in the ring is not the same as street/real combat fighting. Street fighting is far more vicious, and dangerous.
