Just finished this and I must say I’m pleasantly surprised.

The story was interesting and the animation was great, made a change watching anime in Russian ^^

I highly recommend this to anyone not sure about downloading it.

Still, it’s hard to say either side is the good guys. The Germans kiiled millions of Jews during the war. The Russians starved millions of their own people to death in the 50s.

This movie revolved around an interesting story concept…that’s the only good thing I have to say about it.

Animation quality…most weekly anime episodes are of far greater detail and quality.

Acting: Voice acting was good enough for the voice actors. The actors playing the interview subjects were varied…but mostly cheesy.

The music: AWFUL. There was far to little bgm making the already boring scenes all the more noticable. And when there was music is was like some ambinet elevator/techno msuic played quarter volume.

Worst part of the movie was the animation though, it remined me off the Bleach eipsodes where they only use the cheap korean studio to do their work (versus the big fight scenes that are animated by a quality studio).

Just bad. Give me an hour back.

And was I the only one who found the interviews forced and worthless. They segmented an already choppy story line. Plus it was a poor emulation of a documentary interview.

Oh well, some movies have to suck.

You say the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were so bad etc, but how many more lives would have been lost if Japan would have faced mainland invasion from the US and Russia?

Stalin was a huge asshole. They still haven’t found all of the mass burial sites where he had people killed in the 1930s. If they weren’t killed outright, they were sent to the Gulag where over a million people died.

Wow im surprised, very good anime!

I agree Russians did most of the fighting and dying in WW2 in the European theater. This saved many lives in the other Allied nations. But how many lives were lost in Eastern Europe under Stalin’s iron fist once he had control of those countries? Granted, it would have been worse if they were under the control of Hitler. Still, my initial question remains, who do you root for in this situation? I find both sides detestable.

This movie sucked balls, a mishmash of bullshit of the soviet warr with russian alongside with zombies and a brat with supernatural powers, THIS SHIT HAD NO PLOT. It was more like a documental with people relating what happened in the front lines in that age.

I’m just happy there’s finally an anime i can watch RAW and completely understand what is being said! XD

And please, avoid political arguments here…The nations that were protagonists of the WW2 aren’t the same as today’s ones. Mistakes were committed by everyone, that’s why it was a true “World War” and it is therefore pointless to go rant about “America”, “Russia” and “Germany” as if it bore much significance to us. So, it doesn’t matter anymore which nation acted worse back then, but rather, what is important today is to remember that such mistakes mustn’t be repeated.

A good start would be to avoid flame and arguments here, already…

Both Stalin and Hitler were giant dicks. There’s nothing to say they weren’t. They were both evil dictators, but thanks to the USSR, Germany was pushed back quite a bit.

Some people here forget, that beside “Soviets save the world from nazi, include you, in reality”(Helio), soviets togeteher with nazis were the prime initiators of WW2 by dividing and occupying EE(Ribbentrop-Molotov pact).
On my eyes there is no big difference between communists and nazis, Stalin and Hitler. Both killed a millions of people.
