This may be a dumb question (please dont flame me), but since they are basically creating a “summary” of FSN, does that mean that there may be a new series coming up somehow?
It just seems to me like they might do this sort of thing for those people who do not want to go back and rewatch the original series, but do want to get a recap before an upcoming “continuation” series starts.
I havent been keeping track of FSN news, so I have no clue about rumors of new series or movies.

I’d recommend watching the series rather than these two. These two 1 hour episodes are very lacking and only give the general idea. However if you’ve seen the tv series, or read the visual novel, you can completely skip these as you won’t miss out on anything

Alternate recap? It’s the entire tv series compressed into two hours. There’s not going to be a new plot or anything fancy. A few scenes will be different but that’s all.
