I find myself wondering the same thing, I mean FMA redrew everything
I suppose where most of the stuff that was different from the manga was fillers, it was easy to cut them out and leave it

To be honest I don’t see them dubbing this
So far this is a bit pointless, I’ve never watched the Japanese version of this before so it’s alright for me
But this “remake” just isn’t right, they should have done it all from scratch like FMA has

I heard somewhere that they’ll start redrawing things once they reach the Namek Saga (Not sure).
As for this show, it is moving at a very fast pace, perhaps too fast, skipping some transitional scenes which were very nice in the original and helped the flow of the series. In addition, they have skipped important scenes such as piccolo giving Gohan his new outfit :S.

Piccolo giving Gohan his new outfit isn’t really important, there was no one else with Gohan so it’s obvious how he got it
I’m just glad there will be no Garlic Jr. in this series this time
