@ Rebornsoul
Have you forgot that Gundam and Macross have evolved over the past 20 years?
I think that Code Geass is one of the animes that will be made anew.

Anyway I’m looking forward towards Kurogane no Linebarrel/Linebarrels of Iron.

PhuzyBuny Says:

Yeah, this ep was pretty good. The slightly opened ended finish was very well done. Is C.C. really talking to lelouche or to herself like she has done throughout the series? Wonderful episode imo.

plectrum Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 5:24 am

Well she’s not looking up at Heaven and asking Lelouch up there (lol, Lelouch…Heaven?).

Thanks for the huge amount of mirrors. Depositfiles was faster than Megaupload this morning and allowed me to download it fairly quickly.

DREADLORD Says:

A fitting end for one of the best stories I have ever seen.
I wished that he didn’t die in the end and that it was only another sham to fool everyone !! :-(
I wished that C.C. was actualy talking to him in the end, becouse she didn’t get her wish in the end.
If he was alive and with her than everyone would have gotten what they wanted !!!!!!!!!!

Naga Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 7:13 am

outofmind Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 7:14 am

this was a great end to the series… although i really do wish it neva had to end T_T hope they make an OVA or somtin to it ^_^

Shinsoku Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 8:03 am

Best damn anime I’ve seen in a while.

As for the ending, I suspected something like that would happen, seeing as how his later actions totally contradicted his ideals.

Nice to know that he’s still alive (hint: glance at C.C.’s dialogue in the end).

exia Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 8:47 am

i bet she was just talking to herself.

bebop1225 Says:

A beautiful ending befitting such an epic

shifterking Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 11:51 am

If you know the history of the actual manga and such you know there is quite a good chance that Code Geass will continue in one form or another. And yes, given the history of the anime and past happen stances, Lelouch was most likely the cart driver.

ThatGuy Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 11:53 am

Yep, the way the camera shots deliberately do not show the face of the cart driver. That’s how you can tell it’s Lelouch.

ThatGuy Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 11:56 am

Oh, just noticed the paper crane in the cart is the kind that Nunally makes. Not sure if there’s any meaning to it or not.

Shinsoku Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 12:38 pm

*Proof that Lelouch may still be alive*

Eclipse sub: “The power of Kings, known as Geass, brings one solitude.” — “Not quite accurate, is it?”

Not gonna sound fancy and all, but just looking at the first line, “one” is likely referring to the user. An example of someone who had the power of Geass, and was pretty much living a lonely life, would be Lelouch’s father. Just following the series, some characters have said that he didn’t care about the present world because it was boring (something to that effect) — he wanted something greater since he had the power to probably achieve it.

The second line is self-explanatory (contextually speaking). It’s just another piece of evidence that points out that Lelouch may still be alive.

And then, of course, is the “I’m not gonna show you this one guy’s face!” scene. Again, that may very well be Lelouch.

Let’s not forget that Lelouch has pulled many “Wow!” moments throughout the series. I highly doubt he’d die like that…

I could say more, but I’m writing too much to begin with. Take what I said with a grain of salt; I’m merely saying this stuff because I honestly don’t want to believe that he died (c’mon, he’s probably one of THE best characters in any series). Then again, there have been many awesome people/characters who were damn epic, but died in the end :X

exia Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 1:36 pm

you ever had one of them moments when its all sentimental and u look up at the sky say stuff as if ur talking to someone dead. yep thats what cc did.

PhuzyBuny Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 1:37 pm

I would personally prefer if lelouch actually died. It was the perfect ending. He brought upon the world’s hate onto himself and then the entity known as zero destroyed him. The message he provides the rest of the world is that even if the hero falters from the righteous path, justice will prevail. In order for this to be true, lelouch must be dead. Since he is lelouch, we come to believe he has some trick up his sleeve and the ending is ambiguous as to whether C.C. is talking to herself (like she has many times before) or actually to the cart driver who’s identity we don’t know. However, as an ENDING to the series, it would be much more suitable (if not perfect) if lelouch actually died. His death is significant in itself as it completes both his requiem and the code geass series.

It was a kick ass series. Sad that it is over, but it should be over and we should accept that lelouch IS dead.

SilentSECP Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 1:58 pm

Now that I can FINALLY leave a reply… I am sad that this series ended the way it did, I don’t want to face the fact that Lelouch is dead, but he is, though my friend thinks otherwise:

Me (23:10:41): great ending, sad tho
Friend (23:10:48): but it all makes sense now
Me (23:10:48): and i dont want to admit lelouch is dead
Friend (23:10:59): hes as dead as mariane was
Friend (23:11:17): CC was talking to him

That’s a piece of the conversation I had with him. I would like to see another season, but there’s nowhere to go with it.

Shinsoku Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 2:07 pm

Never had any of those moments, Exia; that’s the stuff I see in made-up stuff (i.e. anime, movies, etc).

I guess I should’ve talked about the worst-case outcome for Lelouch, his death, a tad. But yes, I do agree w/ the fact that the perfect ending would include him dying — he brings all of the hatred of everyone within’ him in order to relieve them of their sins (hence his action against his own sister in the last episode; he’ll take the blame for her actions).

Looking back at history, we’ve had a decent amount of such people. Heck, one such person is a religious figure :) Since I don’t want to talk about religion, I’ll just refer to the movie based on this figure :) I think we know who I’m talking about (he died for our sins!! so they say)

As for evil, such a thing always lives. Why do you guys think that terrorism is a bit hard to stop :(? Oh well, I guess someone will take Lelouch’s spot (more than likely it’ll be Suzaku).

Sorry, just had to post this because I do know the worst outcome, and why’d it make sense (again, it would be the perfect ending) :)

Guess I’m done w/ this episode commentary :) Don’t want things to get heated up

exia Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 2:13 pm

its kool how its all up to interpretation. lelouch got crucified by spinzero’s sword.

Naga Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 4:22 pm

umm lelouch isn’t dead guys…:
http://animeotaku.animeblogger.net/2008/09/code-geass-r2-25-so-is-lelouch-dead-or-not/

DREADLORD Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 4:43 pm

I agree that it is suspitios that the face of the cart driver can’t be seen and I know how I wished for that to be Lelouch, but I doubt it.
Aesome ending thou !!!!!
After sleeping on it , C.C.s words would only make sence if Lelouch was alive, otherwise he was alone, everyone around him died, and he, in the end, died alone.

exia Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 4:58 pm

yeah i read that already. but for the sake of the epic series and for all the sins and murders hes done, an epic death fits his character more.

fuubinosekai Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 10:31 pm

mmm… btw… is this the final episode or to be continued for the next season???

strife Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 10:46 pm

Ok im not sure but if u watch the ep upto the time 21:26 it seems like Schneizel is still under the effect of Geass… if thats the case that should mean lelouch is still alive. Since once the Geass user dies that means the people who were effected with Geass are released…. Hence the cart driver may well be LELOUCH!!! :D or not… BUT IT COULD BE! Im going to go with the fact that he is :P

wat am i going to do without geass now :(:O!!!

strife Says:
September 29th, 2008 at 10:50 pm

btw they leave soooo many things open at the end of this ep like the relationship between pudding earl :P and Rakshata… and also wat CC and kaguya were talking about. Also not to meantion anya since she got her memory back now wat??? There are sooo many things un anwsered :P so i recon an OVA maybe but that could ruin it…. well there are some things to ponder on!! :S

DREADLORD Says:
September 30th, 2008 at 12:26 am

I don’t think that is true Strife;
If that were true than how would you explain that Leluch is still alive after Rolo died.
Remember that Rolo saved his life so if it was undone than Lulu would be dead way before, and Shirley would be alive !!!
In the end I think that the script writers intenionaly left it unclear as to wether Lulu is alive or not, so that we would keep guessing or belive what we want to belive !!!!!

PhuzyBuny Says:
September 30th, 2008 at 12:40 am

It would be a much crappier ending if they actually left lelouch alive. I would actually be slightly disappointed to see a third season with lelouch since the death in this episode would have been dramatically reduced in it’s significance. To make this ending a true ending in terms of lelouch’s plans and to the series, lelouch must be dead. I don’t hope he’s alive.

animeexcite Says:
September 30th, 2008 at 2:42 am

huhu nice ending + sad, well it is an expected end; lelouch die but actually i thought CC will go with him…… lol , but it nice ending bcoz people whom lelouch care about, Nunally and Karen know what is actually going on at the end, that is good enough ^_^ … hmm waiting 4 Gundam new series anyone knows ?

Se3D03 Says:
September 30th, 2008 at 4:03 pm

I honestly wanted to cry at the end but couldn’t since my Father and his clients were discussing right next to me.

An amazingly fitting end to what I would say is the best anime I have ever watched, Deathbote is a close second but Code Geass is better.

Nice touch by the writers to leave an ending with a lot of openings to leave the fans guessing.

If anyone can recommend a good anime that is as epic as Code Geass, please fire away!!

strife Says:
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:44 am

ok here is something for you to all ponder! wat about if Lelouch took the Code from CC like Charles did on VV…. that would make him a warlock and immortal which was a promise he mad to CC in R1…. so if he did do that wouldn’t that mean that he could fake his death etc!!!! therefore Lelouch may still be alive!

ALL HAIL LELOUCH!
