Oi Lenn, have you been problems with megui lately? What size did you set that file to be? Did it come out the size it was supposed to? Gah! I’ve been having problems ever since mencoder updated. If I set the file to be 175mb, it will come out somewhere around 190 and look like crap. mencoder does xvid, so I know it’s because of that. Any ideas?

megui will go at different speeds based on your quality settings. Actually, what’s running under the hood in virtualdub? If it uses mencoder as well, that just means it’s using “lower” settings.

I’m cleaning up some Mission-E raws that are terrible. OOM decided to release in HD, but their encoder was too lazy to do some good post-processing. So I talked to Axlen, and now, I’m attempting to get him a better encode. Not many people watch the show though, so It’s not that bad if I screw/give up. Hooray for usurping responsibilities!There’s some links to screenshots of my first attempt in this forument somewhere up there.

I’m able to fix the gradients and blocks but the detail and colors (black becomes red, gray becomes blue, …??? (only on certain spots)) change =S

That’s one of the earlier ones. I have since improved beyond that point. However, I’m beginning to think this godam gradient fail isn’t going away, no matter how many restoration filters I throw at it.

enlarge it, trow alot of restoration filters at it and then lower the size again, sometimes this works (haven’t tried it with this one yet though)

Have fun encoding it to better quality, my quality is slightly better but it’s an encode of more then 12 hours (on single pass) and 3 hours per pass (on multipass).

I’ve just started my V8 encode a few minutes ago, which, I’m hoping should do the trick. ~1 hour for first pass, and probably 2½-3 hours for the second pass. Of course, I’ll check the quality before it finishes.
