What it seems more to me Exia is that people have become to comfortable with their easy access to anime. Now, if we restrict their access a bit, I’m sure they’ll become more polite.

I have a plan on how to enact this. If you could please meet me in the Throne of Doom, we could continue to discuss this.

The people visiting here need to realize that the people running this site are just a bunch of anime fans like the rest of us. Albeit they have talent in the area of running a website and finding the fastest subs. They are doing all of this free of charge, and should be praised for their efforts.

The day I found this site I was like, “Omg, a freakin awesome site for leechers!” I’ll be honest, I’m a leecher myself, but I do plan on donating to the cause quite soon. :P

Also… the need for .Avi, .Mkv, and .XViD… why? Honestly, a codec pack will do the job, right? CCCP, K-lite, Vista Codecs… come on! :P

Containers and codecs are two different things :(

its elementary my dear soliloquy.
(avi) lower-to mid end computers
(Mkv) mid-to higher end computers.

sadly codecs dont have the ability to pump performance into a comp :p

From what I know about the 2 containers, the main differences were the bit-format… and the hard/soft sub compatibility? (Not so sure on the subbing) However, regardless on the container, graphical performance will only be effected when the codec itself is of a higher-end… right? :S

If you can explain that, it’d be great. I deal more into the area of hardware than this… xD

Well to some degree it doesnt matter what container it is.. its just that traditionally an .avi container is encoded with either xvid or divx and is hardsubbed, and only has one audio track.

while .mkv is either encoede with ogm or of lately h.264 and can have several audio tracks and subtitle tracks along with font packs so that the subbers can add nonstandard fonts to their subs an still have them play properly.

as exia mentions xvid or divx is for the mid-low end computers

and h.264 is for more highend computers.

the benefits with h.264 is the compression ratio in size/quality

and the cons are that it requires alot more power to run then xvid
