Subs are not too bad, the thing is, 5% of the episode is not translated. and 15% is full of english mistakes…
Gonna rewatch with better subs.

Conclusion: Some minor non-translated sentences. English usage is fine for the most part, with some (nothing massive) errors. Timing is not perfect at some points. Overall, I’ve seen worse speedsubs. Watchable if you’re desperate, but if you want quality wait for gg which shouldn’t be too far off.

Or wait another week for qIIq and all its typesetted goodness.

LOL I was about to say that person should feel right at home with those subs based on that post.

The subs were just enough that you can tell what is going on, but the biggest issue I had were several places were way out of sync with the subs coming several seconds after the character spoke.

[Superior] might not be the best subber, but I’ve seen others that worse than theirs. And I still appreciate their quick release =)

Guys, guys… [Superior] subs aren’t bad because there are typos and the timing is a little off. These are horrible subs because the translation is utter garbage. Even with my mediocre knowledge of Japanese I could tell that they weren’t translating, they were guessing based on context. Google translate could do a better job.

The translations are TOTALLY off. I wouldn’t watch this if I wanted to know the real story behind the episode. Do wait for a proper fansub group’s release.

I like how the people who don’t speak Japanese (sora15, plectrum, UnknownFact, celerius) are claiming the subs suck, while people who do speak Japanese are telling them they’re fine.

I also like how Lvhina hasn’t actually seen the Anon subs, and is still trying to judge them.

Meh. Why do they always make incredibly good first episodes and then go down down and down?
This series first episode was very good, but eps 2 & 3 are just normal.
2 being the worst.

Though I am not completely sure why they would use a different tag – except maybe if they want to say that though it is from them, it didn’t have quality control or something like this. Otherwise I don’t actually see the reason for using a different tag..? OK, maybe to get people who don’t like their releases to try out those releases because of another group name but actually, I don’t think that is gonna change too much (especially with a name like this).

this series have a unique feeling to it, hope GG will continue to sub this show and umineko, two of the best shows this season!

The assumptions here are that for some reason people who are fluent in Japanese would download fansubs and for some reason you know more than me about my own level of fluency.

Look, I may not be completely fluent, but I do know some Japanese and if I can catch more than 10 mistranslations, many of obvious words, and just as many nonsensical translations that don’t sound right in English, then yeah, I’m going to call bullshit on the fansubbers. Anyway, doesn’t matter now that gg is out, but there are plenty of people who visit this site who are looking for reviews of fansubs so they don’t waste bandwidth and time. I’m just trying to be honest.

As somebody else said, it’s not like superior’s translation was a little off, it was a full fledged guess sub.
Even the first sentence was wrong.

Examples:
“Okasan ga naka ga ii hito demo, naka ga warui hito demo”
meaning: “those who are on good relations and those who are on bad relations with their mothers”
translation: “Mother was both inside and outside of my life”

He says something like he didn’t come to the park because he had some special motive, and it’s translated: “I… was swept up in the moment by Konoko” and this imaginary Konoko person is mentioned a few more times.

And he says that because there is no one in the park on a Sunday it feels as though there’s no one else in the world but him, which is translated “But on a Sunday afternoon like that one, it was if my world would disappear and I’ be fine”

And once again whenever he says: “Kono kouen” (this park) it is translated as some imaginary Konoko person.

99% of the episode was not translated well.

Ah GG’s Subs are a much better.
I would give ‘em a 9 out of 10.
Not 10, because they could care more about the beauty of subtitles… using colors and stuff and not the old boring black&white…

This is just priceless:

Meaning: “So it’s like that Araragi-kun, so is there something you want me to do for you? Just one thing, and whatever it is I will hear it. Whatever? Really anything is ok. Re-watching with [GG] fansub made things less confusing compared to [Superior] fansub lol.

Another great episode..Is this your pick for the new season Booya?This show reminds me sort of like Zetsubou Sensei with a love twist to it ^_^

This show had all the right things going for it- SHAFT, Shinbo, Kousaki, etc. Being the best new show of the season wasn’t too unexpected, and it has fulfilled the expectations I had for it by being just that.

I’m not sure but This will last for about 12~13 episodes?

Saw the [Superior] version first and thought WTF? Now that I have seen the [GG] version it all makes more sense, although the Superior version was funny too in an abstract incoherent kinda way.

just watched the [Suprior] version and I know their are not even superior than other fansub groups, their sub has some missed translation.
Gotta try [gg]!
