What downloads qualify as premium?
If I come here on any given day does that mean that I won’t be able to see the download pages for currently airing stuff on the home page?

I think you’re misunderstanding something. If you donate, everything will stay the same. You will still be able to view the home page and posts like you did before, the only difference is you get access to our premium downloads section which is high speed downloads via our servers. No ads, no captcha’s, 1 click download. You are also able to request series like seen in the screen shots above.

I don’t really mind the premium dload stuff. I’ve been using the site for so long so I’m glad I can donate =)

Usually yes, as you don’t have to wait for someone to upload the file to a 3rd party DDL site. But it’s a matter of minutes not hours or days.

Donation money goes to paying for the site funds, server funds, and the leftovers go to staff.
$9.99 a month is similar to what you would pay for premium on a filehost.

I wouldn’t mind $9.99 if it’s a one time payment. I came to AT mainly to look at what’s the latest anime releases, and sometimes download the bluray rips at the forum, though ever since the SOPA issues I hardly download via DDL anymore…

You can choose not to have a green name if you’d like, you’ll still be listed in the donator section of the forum leaders though.

How does downloading from a server work? Do we sign in on something or what?

@danyn, not really its basically just clicking on a file in a list and instantly downloading it to your pc. dont have to go through 100 pages and no limits on speed

can the download rate reach over 10mb/s ?

Our servers have a cap of 11.5MB Upload so depending on your location it is possible however its less likely unless you live exactly where the server is located at.

I will donate just because I love AnimeTake , its been 4 years since I knew the website and it made my life so easy that I can find everything I need in one place ,you can’t imagine how was my life before , I used to look for every anime episodes on different websites some times they are there some times not ,it was hill, so to celebrate the re-enabling of the PM and re-opening the premium section I will donate 25$, and I hope you continue providing us with the great anime quality as you always did , Thank You.

So just to be clear and put it in simpleton terms, AnimuTank is essentially letting us download directly from AnimuTank’s personal “megaupload” server instead of us having to pay OTHER filehosts to download directly to our computers?

So, money is used to pay for servers, but the content primarily comes from somewhere in Japan and the subs themselves from the subbing groups. Technically then, the fastest way of getting the anime is via torrent of the subbing fan group or rips of crunchyroll/leaks or IRC fansub channel. If people go to the latter, then what would necessarily make animetake better in its services, besides from the fact that it provides DDL links after receiving the first copy from the anime sub group which can also be listed in subscriptions of torrents for releases via third party sites.

I mean money is deserved for making the site/organizing it and the community, but uhm “donating” in exchange for “premium services” which entails the use of work of both fansubbers and people making the anime. IDK here.

How do we access the server after donating though? Through a link? A program? Also, what’s this 100 page thing you’re talking about? I just click on a torrent link and dl, Easy as that.

After you donate, you’ll get access to an index page which will include many series and all you need to do is click on something you want and it will download for you. No torrents or anything. Its a direct browser download.

I am a donator bc I love this site and I want to help Naga and the staff. The premium is just a bonus.

Those who complain about price is soo stupid , if you r really into anime 9.99 is not exxpensive I am sure that with premium account on normal filehost companie it can get DMCA any minuite and taken down + you can’t find some anime + one filehost doesn’t host all anime , don’t bbe stupid and complain , buy it or GTFO , also 9,99 is a little price paid for admin and staff to help this site going, without animetake it’s harder to find anime line up website like this (torrent not include)

I wanna ask about Premium download:

1.How fast download speed ? you can reach up to 10MB/S
2.I can get the Anime in 720p or 1080p ? yes
3.Is that quality of Anime depent on Fansub? The video and sub quality is dependent on the sub group
4.I can request the anime depend from Fansub that i like? yes
5.Can i get the RAW version from BD? no

So what changes if you don’t donate? You mentioned it’ll take longer to get the new downloads, but will it only be 480p or will it have the choices of 480p, 720p, and 1080p? Will you still have the same choices to download from? I.E file sharing sites or torrents.

The old Premium Downloads page was an absolute mess. How organised is the new one.

I’d like to think they are rather organised, and I agree that the old one was a mess.

Side note, but about time you guys fixed the signing in problem. I could log in the forum with no problem, but I couldn’t log in/post on the non-forum side of the site. I’ll be donating soon, but mostly to support the site.

i wouldnt mind paying 100~ for an unlimited premium or some such, is something of this nature possible? i really dont like time limits, and what sort of guarantee can you provide as to the stability and availability of the service? what if i bought 6 months and for one reason or another it disappears in like, 2 months(for example)

Because there is no such thing as unlimited, i can’t gaurentee that the premium service will be up forever is the main reason. And there shouldn’t be a reason now that the server will dissapaer and if it does i can reimburse the people who want.

Basically after 2 years the server goes down and you say: But i got the unlimited…

my main concern would be having to pay again as i feel like if im forking out a large amount of money(at least for me, a poor student) i would also like peace of mind with that purchase, if i were to buy 1 year premium that would always be in the back of my head, i feel a (pseudo) unlimited membership would provide that peace of mind. if i payed say for example, $120-150~ (as i now see the 12 month is $95ish), and the servers went down indefinitely 2 years later, i would most likely already have everything off the server by that point and feel like it was money well spent as its a reasonable price for a 2 year period and the service provided.

$190~(2x 12month membership) on the otherhand… well that kind of price would make me feel it should last forever :p

my thought process being:

ok, 95 = 12 month membership, but if i pay slightly more, than i dont have to pay again and get that peace of mind i oh so sorely crave. the asian half of me is screaming bargain, and i then make the purchase.

If i donated, will there be ‘alive’ torrents of older anime series such as Clannad? If so, what quality will they be in?

The premium downloads is a direct download service, so you wont get torrents. The quality will depend on what show, older shows without BDs will be 480p, as that is the best that exists, while newer shows with BDs will be available in 720p or 1080p. Also, there are already plenty of old series in the archive, clannad included.

Sounds like a good idea. But I see that having this can cause the FREE section to have reduced frequency of updates.

You need to consider the fact that there are people out there who can’t use torrents. DDL’s exist for those reasons.

Edit2: Koga/Naga didn’t make it clear but, we have a special auth system for our premium server so if a link leaks, unless you’re a donator, you won’t be able to do anything with that link.

So glad I can finally get a HD version of this crazy animu.

Edit(ish)…. It’s not HD or a BD rip but its the best I’ve found yet.

It is actually a BD rip, FLCL is a show from 2000 and no amount of fancy upscaling can turn a 480p original into high quality 1080p, and they didn’t redraw and reanimate the whole thing for the BD, so it’s better quality than the DVD rips but you really shouldn’t expect modern BD quality from old shows released on BD.

Ill probably donate if you guys can make it to the new years without being hacked or DDOSed and replace some of my older anime series like FLCL ^_^

SO does this mean that only premium members can download anime now? because i was waiting for Naruto episode 293 and it hasn’t shown up on the download page yet so am i right? and if so thats kinda bad but i am sorry to hear that but still where else are we going to turn too?

There is no change for non premium members, you’ll still get posts the same as always.

will premium downloading for new episodes come out before torrents or as soon as a torrent is available? so as soon as an episode comes out we have an option of torrent or premium download and then waiting maybe 20mins for other file sharing sites

For most releases yes. Our premium section has a certain subgroup for each show. For example, for K instead of downloading Horriblesubs or CR, it is automated to only download Anime-Koi as that is the subgroup we believe is the best for that release.

Well that’s some good news.

If we get the premium, can we request a whole season of a past anime, in a batch file? For the lazy.

You can request whole season of old shows, you’ll have to use a download manager to download the whole folder with 1 click though, finding a free download manager isn’t hard.

Is there Shows like yu-gi-oh?

Yu-Gi-Oh is not currently on the server but as a donator you get to request shows that will be added.
