It’s still in the awesome rotoscope if that’s what you mean.

@ Ashikabe thats really ignorant.

Its not my type of animation but to say its shit. You should just quit watching anime and go back to your American shit.

I find the pace of this anime to be incredibly slow, with only glimpses of interest at the closing, surely to attempt to draw me in for next weeks installment. However, after last week I found myself uninterested and unsatisfied in a large way, but I had recalled someone telling me the manga was better. Of course most people say that the manga, as the original source material, is always better. And so I usually ignore those people, but in this case I decided to check it out, if only to justify watching this for over a month. I was not disappointed, although apparently there seems to be some problems with release dates, I’m not entirely sure why, but it is what it is. I suppose the problem I had with the anime is that I wasn’t getting enough of the story at a time, I don’t really mind being spoon fed, as long as it’s a table spoon. This, this is a tea spoon, but with the manga I could go at any pace I wanted. And boy, did I go! I read all 44 chapters, and I’m waiting on 45 (supposedly it’s supposed to be out in 3 weeks) But I’m not entirely sure on that. The story is actually really gripping, once it shifts into full gear, to all of those who haven not read the manga and may be struggling with the pace of this show I would implore you to persist! It really does get good! Although I’m not sure how much will be covered with this only being 13 episodes, last weeks episode went up to chapter 8 so.. assuming 5 episodes equals 8 chapters… NOT GONNA MAKE IT. But, I could be wrong! In my experience 13 episode series are usually created to draw attention to the manga in the first place, so if that trend holds up here you’ll be rewarded when and if you shift to the manga. I’ll continue to download this series, however I probably will not watch it until it’s complete, as I’ve gone far far beyond the place in the anime. Also, the main protagonist is a bitch, and I hate him, so so much. More so than Eren from AOT. Enjoy! And thanks to the uploader! Wow, as my first post back it sure is a lenghty one!

Double Post? I didn’t do it!

Combo Breaker!

Most people would find the appeal of the manga to be because of the gripping story and the uneasiness one feels when reading it.

The anime wants to further extend the the uneasiness you feel in the manga by also making the anime visually uneasy to watch, for people new to the series and veterans alike.

Not saying anything about whether this is a good move or not, but it is a rather bold one.

I’ve decided to pass on the anime, tho. It became kinda draggy.

Not my cup of tea, but I’m seeing it through to the end.

Regrettably.

@iansheng I don’t know about uneasyness, as I love shock value, so all of the twists and turns don’t really repulse me. Although, some of it is really…Shocking…I didn’t have a problem with it. The anime style, now that you’ve explained it,makes more sense. I don’t particularly hate it, but I don’t really care for it either, so it’s meh. Now that I’ve read the manga there are certainly some scenes that I absolutely HAVE TO SEE. But, other than those? I’m fine not watching this one.

@Shurikenjutsu

While it is slow, it’s not really a bad show. I don’t think we’ll regret watching it =). At least it has depth, unlike shows like Samurai Brides

@Razgrizdemon

I just need to defend Eren and say he’s a little b**** with good reason though! Unlike Kasuga who is just a social outcast, Eren had his Mom eaten right in front of him by an enemy who is about 100x his size and nearly indestructible! So don’t pick on Eren!! But Eren turned into a bamf before he got eaten lol.

I’m betting all my money that the idiots that comment week after week on Aku no Hana episodes about the “animation” really mean the art style. Animation is the show moving frame by frame, and if you haven’t had your head under a rock for the last 20 years you’d realize that almost no anime run at a perfectly smooth 24 frames a second. Now the art style is from rotoscoping, they are more or less literally tracing over real humans to come up with the appearances of these characters, and as a result the animation is about as life-like as possible as it’s taken from a real source, frame by frame.

Now it might not be the smoothest, but as detailed above, almost NO anime these days runs at 24 fps. You can thank Japan for being incredibly stingy with budgets and deadlines for that. Go watch an OVA or expensive anime film if you want perfect animation.

@kenshin6321 I didn’t call Eren a bitch, I just don’t like how overconfident he is. It’s too much, I don’t know a single person like that, some of it you can tell he’s trying to hide his fear, but other times it’s just ridiculous. I think the creators sense this and constantly have things go wrong for him, or at least that’s how I like to think of it, bit I could be wrong. Kasuga on the other hand is 100% a bitch, he’s a direct descendant of the Bitch Family from Bitch Land. Maybe it’s just me, but the way he gets steam rolled by Nakamura week after week is frustrating to say the least. When I decided to read the manga it wasn’t for him at all but for Saeki. She’s the real deal holyfield.

@Razgrizdemon

LOL I love your analogies. Yeah, Kasuga is a little wimp. You gotta admit though, Nakamura isn’t your average troll. She’s that kind of girl that makes it hard to say no to. Regardless, I LOVED this episode, I think it was the best one by far.
