You are only looking at the “surface” of the anime. Look much deeper and you’ll find that the story is very generic and stupid as it is.

Its pretty much impossible to come up with a 100% original concept for a story, since story telling goes far back. So stop failing and just stop being a noob.

Shounens = a brainless action and lame attempts at drama only served for fanboys alike. Its all pure fanservice there.

Bleach and Naruto fill this category and thus there are more interesting and better shounen out there.

FMA first season is one of the ONLY much more developed shounens out there that is more realistic in drama and story alike.

All shonen share the same kinds of Bullshit, For example:

-Idiotic, idealistic, iritating teenage protagonists, who piss off everyone and everything and never think while heading to battle, yet for some reason they always win and are loved by the very people they mock or defeat with their immature behavior.

-Sudden power-ups at the nick of time, so the good guys can win when the bad guys clearly are victorious. We can’t let the series end before 1.000 episodes or with a bad ending.

-Magical ressurections, so the scriptwritters can shock us with the death of an important character, and then shock us again with his return to life. But the second shock may not be a positive.

-Almighty leads, who don’t die no matter how much they get beaten to a pulp and then just mention some idialistic monologue and stand up miraculously healed.

-Villains who reveal their masterplans for no reason, stand still when they can kill the heroes in one strike, wait for the heroes to talk for half an hour and generally not paying attention to the Evil Overlord List.

Listen Ergo, just stop coming on Animetake to talk trash about an anime that hasn’t even finished yet (unless you played both the games). Not everyone has the same view on anime as you, we don’t take anime seriously, some people do, thus voicing your negative opinion calling it “generic” or even “cliche” is completely irrelevant. Encourage people to watch the anime and to let them decide for themselves if they like it or not. So far I like this series, some of it does seem familiar but then considering how many anime series I’ve watched over the years it would be impossible not to draw parallels. the only times I’ve judged the series based on only one episode is if the 1st episode is really really bad, ie Queens Blade bad, but that isn’t the case here and enough has happened in just the 1st episode to peak my interest to see more.

After watching the first ep, I’ve gotta say it looks more promising than the plot summary lead me to believe. Think this one might be a keeper.
On a side note, I don’t see why some people get so worked up over other peoples opinions. Going into a rage because someone said something you disagree with makes you look like a small child throwing a tantrum because mommy wont buy you a lolly. It’s almost pitiful.
